The thermal instability of the standard 14% Sodium Hypochlorite solution, often used in disinfection stages of water treatment, results in the loss of the active Chlorine element from the solution in periods of elevated ambient temperature. This can lead to under-dosing and a reduction in quality of the final treated water.
The solution is stable at 20°C and in a bulk storage vessel (>10m³) several systems of cooling have been employed to maintain the bulk solution temperature.
Recirculation Cooling: the solution is re-circulated through a plate heat exchanger using a standard chiller as the provision of the low temperature solution. However the corrosive nature of the Sodium Hypochlorite solution requires a high cost exotic metal heat exchanger construction (normally Titanium).
Chem Resist all plastic heat exchanger technology has been employed to reduce capital costs and shorten the solution path outside the storage tank.
Chem Resist combines Hypochlorite storage and cooling in one package to reduce your need for multiple suppliers.
Advantages of the Chem Resist Hypochlorite Cooling system:
All thermoplastic corrosion-resistant construction
Integral Safety Bund
Fully Insulated tank
Provided as complete system with chiller and pipework
